NOTABLE BRIEF
- Represented corporate clients in successful resolution of multi-million dollar tax dispute on management service fees and royalty income over intellectual property; achieving speedy tax refunds of more than 95% of taxes and penalties in dispute over 10 years of assessment
- Negotiated with IRAS for amicable resolution of criminal liabilities of clients under investigation for income tax evasion, achieving private settlement without any court prosecution or adverse publicity.
- Conducted civil proceedings before the High Court and Court of Appeal to successfully cut down excess of authority by IRAS, in their court action for confidential banking documents of clients pursuant to exchange of information request from foreign tax authorities for restricted information on various entities and individuals.
